Performance of a Simple Tuned Fuzzy Controller and a PID Controller on a DC Motor Application

Abstract

In this paper is presented a comparison of the performance of a fuzzy controller after applying the Simple Tuning Algorithm (STA), against the performance of a PID controller tuned with the Ziegler-Nichols method in a speed control of a DC motor. Experimental results using a real DC gear motor are presented.
